  • The Taxi/Uber will cost about $25-$30 each way Edited: 5 years ago The Q44 bus does stop 3 blocks from the College and goes to JFK Airtrain, but I dont recommend doing that unless you are really comfortable riding local buses in a strange area. Otherwise the area is residential, not very interesting for tourists.

    The Queens College campus is nice, with an interesting looking Looking Library named from civil right advocates Chaney-Goodman-Schwerner. Here is an approximate picture of the view Queens College about 20-30 mins by Taxi from JFK has one of the best postcard views of the NYC Skyline that is close to JFK without worrying too much about getting back to the Airport (Yes the Van Wyck is bad, but in even the worst case scenrio you can get back in 20-30 mins) (You can also take a taxi to/from Jamaica Airtrain station to avoid Van Wyck traffic) One more boring post for those on a short layover who still want to see the famous NYC skyline fairly close to JFK Airport
